It is hard to believe that we are approaching the last week in October. We do have a few events this week, but the children are really getting excited about the upcoming Halloween activities on Friday.
On Tuesday, at 1:00PM in the gym, thirteen of our seventh and eighth graders will be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. This honor is bestowed on those worthy students who have exhibited high scholastic standing, service to others, good character, commitment to school and community, and confident leadership. Once inducted, they will join the four current members and be role models and leaders serving our school and community through numerous worthwhile activities and projects. All within our school community, congratulate our new inductees and look forward to the exciting projects they will organize.
On Friday, we will celebrate Halloween! The children in grades K, 1, 2, and 3 will come to school dressed in costume. The children in PreK, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 will Dress Down and then change into their costumes after lunch. At 1:00PM, PreK will lead the parade and K, 1, 2, etc. will follow along. The children will go around twice and there will be music so they can stop and dance along the way. Once the parade is over, the children will proceed to the Trunk & Treat part of the route and each child will go to the ten cars and receive treats! The children will then proceed back into school and have a treat from their bags!
Reminders:
- Dismissal: Please do not park in the Yellow Fire Zone to wait for your child. Please park in the lot. Please refrain from playing on the grassy area in front or side of the school. Ball playing is not permitted.
- Masks: Mask should be plain with no decoration/words printed on them.
- Basketball/Cheerleading Sign-up. Please remember to sign-up using the Google Form if your child is interested in participating in either sport.
- Eighth grade Fundraiser: Don’t forget to place your Krispy Kreme Donut order by November 5.
- Calendar Raffle: Look for the Calendar Raffle which will be coming home by the end of the week!
