Christmas Letter to Parents

My dear Holy Savior Academy Parents and Guardians:

This is the most wonderful time of the year!  We have been preparing all during this Advent season for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and that day is almost here!  The excitement fills the air and our hearts are overflowing with joy, love and happiness.

On behalf of all here at Holy Savior Academy, I would like to wish all of our families and extended community a blessed Christmas and a joyous New Year!  We pray that all have a happy, healthy Christmas season and extended break.

Thursday is the last day before we start our Christmas vacation.  It is a half-day session with dismissal at noon.  There will be no Aftercare and no Lunch tomorrow.  It will be a red and green Dress Down Day for all of the children.  We will have a Christmas/Advent Prayer Service at 9:00AM in the school gym presented by Mrs. Tripodi and the second grade class.  Parents are all invited to attend. After the Prayer Service, the winner of the Christmas Ornament Contest will be announced, and the winner will be awarded their prize of a $25.00 gift card.  After that, the parents will leave with some of the class moms staying to prepare our Breakfast Treat of bagels and juice. That preparation will be in the Science Lab.  The children will remain in the gym and take off their shoes for the Christmas Sock Hop.  We will all dance to Christmas Music until around 10:00AM.

At that time, the children will go back to their classrooms for their Breakfast Treats.  The festivities will continue until dismissal at noon.

As a precautionary measure, the children will be bringing home all of their school materials over the break.  This is being done in case it is necessary for us to close and go remote in the new year.  We ask that you send in a shopping bag with your child tomorrow so that their materials can be packed, and it will be easier for transport.  Please know that I will only close if the Diocese or the State mandates this action.  We have been blessed thus far with only a limited amount of COVID cases and exposure so it has been easy to manage.  We hope that that continues.

In addition, our Tenth Anniversary Calendar Raffle has become a fantastic fundraiser, and tickets will no longer be sold just before the first raffle is drawn which is January 7.  If you have any unsold or sold raffle tickets, please return tomorrow or as soon as possible.

Again, have a wonderful Christmas.  I will be in touch if we are unable to return on January 3.

May God continue to bless each of you.  We pray that God continues to keep you in His loving care.

Mrs. Carol Woodburn
