Holy Savior Academy was invited to attend St Thomas Aquinas High School’s STREAM Fair held on Friday April 21st.  The event allowed students and schools to showcase their creativity and innovations to the high school students and teachers.

Holy Savior Academy entries centered around robotics and 3D design and printing. The students representing Holy Savior Academy were Alexandra German, Sharis Porter, Gail Fernandes, Jonathan Klimuc, and  Evan Saravia.  They were chaperoned by Mr. Phil Emma HSA IT Director and technology teacher.

“I am so proud of the students.  They worked hard on their projects to get ready for the Fair.  They did a great job presenting and talking about how they planned and designed their projects to both students and teachers”, said Mr. Emma.

HSA’s projects showcased the versatility of STREAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Reading/Writing, History, Religion, Arts, and Math). For instance, how 3D printing uses the applications of technology, engineering, and mathematics for creative and educational purposes.  Robotics is the intersection of science, engineering, and technology that involves designing, building, and programming machines that can perform tasks autonomously or with human guidance.

The students had several 3D printed projects on display with some student created fidget toys that were giveaways to students and teachers.  There were also two robots performing various tasks which demonstrate the students programming and robot building skills.

“The students had a great time, and they are looking forward to next year’s Stream Fair,” Mr. Emma said.
